In Black Chronicle and La Cronica historians and educators use a newspaper format to tell of their contributions and struggles.

General Objectives


  1. To increase awareness and understanding of the richness of Black American and Mexican American culture and history.

  2. To help students understand that the American heritage is the result of the achievements and contributions of people of all races, colors and creeds.

  3. To encourage and increase positive self-image among Black and Mexican American students.

  4. To make students aware of the history of discrimination against Black Americans and Mexican Americans throughout American history.

  5. To highlight the individual and collective efforts of Black Americans and Mexican Americans to resist discrimination and neglect.
